The Clock Screams

she don’t like the rain,
unless she’s with you.
somehow, you numb it
the pain in the body,
the pain in the brain.
total opposites,
but too much the same.

and the clock
the goddamn clock
its always screaming

i hope you know,
you’re my way home
on the last day
of us having never
on the back
of a promise of forever

and the clock its still ticking

it tells me in whispers
what i already know,
what i don’t want to hear

here comes the fear
i miss you.
i need you.
I cant make it alone
stop punishing me
for what i had no control.

but you do.
and i do.
and the clock still screams.

because only love
can carve itself into you
like this

only love
can make time
feel like a loaded gun.
